DEVONSHIRE MOTORS WINS TOP AWARD FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

THE multi-award-winning Mitsubishi dealership Devonshire Motors is celebrating after scooping another major award – this time for how well it looks after its customers.

After being nominated by Mitsubishi Motors themselves the Barnstaple business beat off stiff competition to win the Excellence In Customer Service category at this year’s AM Awards, organised by Automotive Management and held at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.

A delighted Nathan Tomlinson, who is the Dealer Principal at Devonshire Motors, said: ‘This is fantastic recognition of just how much effort everyone at the dealership puts into looking after customers.

‘Customer care is of over-riding importance to us, and we strive to make sure that all our 
 
customers – whether they’re new or returning – are completely happy with all that we do for them. If they’re not happy then we’re not happy. That’s our ethos, we’re all human at the end of the day and it’s nice to be able to build friendship and trust with people. The AM Award is the ultimate customer service accolade, and unequivocally shows that we will look after people every step of the way.’

The AM Awards are dedicated to acknowledging exemplary performance and innovation, and the judges said of Devonshire Motors: ‘This dealer described its customer service strategy as “very simple”, but it is underpinned by the most robust processes and measurements to ensure the very highest standards are adhered to.

‘Devonshire Motors understands that good customer service is a by-product of the right people, the right internal culture and a passion coming from the very top.’

Devonshire Motors also consistently earns the maximum five-star rating in customer satisfaction surveys carried out by Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, and it has a bulging trophy cabinet from industry recognition, too. It is currently Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s Dealer of the Year – an award it has won twice – and last year it picked up a long-service award for 25 years as a Mitsubishi dealer as well.



In 2013, Nathan was named Used Car Dealer Principal of the Year by Car Dealer Magazine and he also took home the Dealer Principal of the Year Award at that year’s Motor Trader Industry Awards, while in 2011 Devonshire Motors won the Aftermarket Innovation Award at the Motor Trader Industry Awards.
