THE ‘16’ plate is on its way and the award-winning Mitsubishi dealership Devonshire Motors is gearing up for the new registration on 1st March by offering customers up to £2,000 more for their part-exchange for all orders placed between now and March 29th.
The Barnstaple showroom has the full range of Mitsubishi vehicles, from the chic city car that is the Mirage Attivo right up to the iconic pick-up that is the L200, via the game-changing Outlander PHEV.
Dealer Principal Nathan Tomlinson said: ‘We’re always very excited for the new registration plate change, and we know that whatever type of vehicle people need, a Mitsubishi vehicle will fit the bill perfectly. By giving customers an unbeatable price for their part-exchange we think we have a really unique proposition- In almost every case I’ve looked at we are already offering more than the ‘Buy any Car’ type of websites, even under normal circumstances, so our current offer should really make customers smile’
The Mitsubishi Mirage Attivo has been designed to be just as at home on busy streets as it is on north Devon’s country lanes. It’s got a winning blend of chic styling, exceptional comfort, low running costs and a tiny turning circle. Features include heated front seats, cruise control with limiter, and the Mitsubishi Multi Entertainment System (MMES) – which includes satellite navigation plus a rear-view camera. The model also boasts electric folding door mirrors with integral indicators.
Available as a manual or an automatic, the Attivo, which can seat five people, has a boot capacity of 235 litres, while the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine is Euro 6b-compliant and delivers a wallet-friendly 65.7mpg. Emissions are just 100g/km CO2 for the manual and 99g/km for the CVT, which means owners don’t pay any vehicle tax and there’s no liability for the London congestion charge either.
Available with a choice of powerful, yet efficient, petrol and diesel engines, the awesome Mitsubishi ASX crossover offers impressive fuel economy but still packs plenty of pulling power. It also boasts a five-star Euro-NCAP safety rating and is available as a four-wheel drive.
The ASX ZC has steering wheel audio controls, privacy glass and a premium front centre arm rest/console box, the ASX ZC-M boasts key specification items to create a fresh new look and feel, including new 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels plus DAB, while the range-topping ASX ZC-H has a factory-fitted Mitsubishi Multi-Communication System, boasting a seven-inch high-definition touchscreen display, sat nav, reversing camera, DAB plus FM/AM/LW radio, CD players and SD card compatibility. All engines meet the latest Euro 6 emission regulations.
Meanwhile, the latest model of the Mitsubishi Outlander diesel has had 40 noise, vibration and harshness improvements. As well as an improved appearance – which includes new-look LED headlamps and new rear lamps – ride and handling are even better, while the cabin interior has increased levels of comfort and safety. The Outlander diesel has a five-star Euro-NCAP safety rating, boasts incredible fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions, and is lighter, quieter and more refined than ever.
Its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle counterpart, the multi-award-winning Outlander PHEV, is the nation’s favourite choice of plug-in vehicle, with Mitsubishi having sold more than 15,000 of them in the UK since the SUV’s launch here in 2014. It currently accounts for around half of all Plug-in Car Grant applications, and with the new model, fuel economy has been improved – up from 148mpg to 156mpg – while CO2 emissions are down from 44g/km to 42g/km.
The Outlander PHEV can travel 32½ miles in electric mode alone – more than enough to accommodate most daily average journey distances. It’s exempt from vehicle tax plus the London congestion charge and qualifies for the Government’s Plug-in Car Grant and up to £8,000 of the Government’s Plug-in Van Grant. For company car drivers, it attracts just five per cent taxable benefit in kind, giving them a virtual pay rise of thousands of pounds a year. The world’s first 4WD plug-in hybrid SUV has been scooping award after award ever since its launch. In 2014, it won Diesel Car’s Best Alternative Fuel Vehicle award as well as Business Car’s Best Green Development gong in its Techie Awards, while in May 2015 it was named Best Ultra Low Emission Vehicle at the Fleet World Honours. Also last year, Scotland’s national newspaper The Scotsman awarded it the title of Plug-in Vehicle of the Year and Next Green Car made it SUV of the Year in its annual awards.
The legendary Shogun is the vehicle that’s ready to tackle anything. Originally launched in 1982, the iconic 4x4 brought to the world a whole new breed of vehicle: a 4x4 that was tough enough to go where others feared to tread yet enjoyed the sort of sophisticated specification more normally associated with top-end saloons.
Needless to say, it’s changed and been updated since then, but it’s still a dyed-in-the-wool, no-holds-barred, authentic off-roader, built to outlast the opposition. Seventy per cent of all new Shoguns are bought by former Shogun owners – do you need convincing any further about its merits?
The ultimate pick-up that is the Mitsubishi L200 has a fantastic all-terrain driving capability matched with superb power and performance – it really is a four-wheeled workmate like no other. The all-new Series 5 model was launched last July 2015 to great acclaim. It was named Best Pick-Up 2015 by judges at Auto Express – the UK’s top automobile weekly – ahead of its UK launch, where it received widespread praise from the motoring press. It was also named Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year and Pick-up of the Year at the 2015 What Van? Awards.
Inheriting the DNA of its predecessors and taking the pick-up concept even further, it’s an entirely new vehicle from the ground up, with significant improvements in 330 areas. The Series 5 is more fuel-efficient than before, with a combined 42.9mpg, and emits just 169g/km of CO2. It has a turning radius of 5.9m and can carry and tow a combined 4.1 tonnes, outshining similar vehicles from other manufacturers. What’s more, it’s also the only pick-up that can be driven permanently in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive on tarmac and off road.
Anyone buying a new Mitsubishi vehicle can also relax in the knowledge that it comes with a fully comprehensive five-year/62,500-mile warranty package, showing just how much confidence Mitsubishi has in the unrivalled quality and reliability of its vehicles. Devonshire Motors consistently earns the maximum five-star rating in customer satisfaction surveys carried out by Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, and it has a bulging trophy cabinet from industry recognition, too. It is currently Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s Dealer of the Year – an award it has won twice – and last year it picked up a long-service award for 25 years as a Mitsubishi dealer as well.
In 2013, Nathan was named Used Car Dealer Principal of the Year by Car Dealer Magazine and he also took home the Dealer Principal of the Year Award at that year’s Motor Trader Industry Awards, while in 2011 Devonshire Motors won the Aftermarket Innovation Award at the Motor Trader Industry Awards.
The dealership is currently a finalist in the Excellence in Customer Service and Excellence in Aftersales categories at this year’s AM Awards, organised by the magazine Automotive Management, which take place on February 11th at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.
